ESRI – Entree Wireless Test Geo-located Handheld Data Collection

The Plan– Visit a variety of sites in the Point Loma area. Make local contacts and collect simulated patient data on a variety of GPS enabled handheld devices such as; PDA, Cell phone, laptops. Transmit data to a data center via the Internet using various communication channels including – 1) Cellular Data Network, 2) Wi-Fi using the EVDO/Wi-Fi Bridge.

Mc70 – Symbol – Rugged Pocket PC phone with GPS, full day on phone
GEO-Tx – Trimble, Pocket PC Phone, Sub Meter GPS,
WBP-KR1 – Entree Wireless battery powered EVDO/Wi-Fi gateway, Instant Internet Access

Notes:
The Entrée Wireless WBP-KR1 battery powered EVDO/Wi-Fi gateway provides instant Internet access for up to 50 users. The battery lasts 20 hours and can be recharged in 2.5 hours. The gateway requires an ‘Air Card’ and Verizon or Sprint data service. A variety of EVDO routers can be accommodated.
